How Heat Pumps OperateA heat pump is more energy efficient then a conventional cooling system with electric heat. During the summer season a heat pump provides cooling to the evaporator coil that delivers cool air into your home. During the winter season a heat pump reverses it's cooling cycle to the heating cycle in which it now provides heating to the evaporator coil that delivers heat into your home. A heat pump draws less electricity then an electric heater making it more efficient and less expensive during your heating season.
