American Standard Heat Pump Units
With the American Standard Home Comfort System, each component is manufactured
with performance and reliability built right in. When the outdoor unit is matched
in size and SEER rating with the indoor unit, you can enjoy the highest system
efficiency possible.
The Heritage 18 & 16
Ultimate
Comfort: two-stages for the quietest operation, the highest efficiency and
the greatest comfort.
Woven Spine Fin™ Coil provides very low airflow resistance for more
efficient heat transfer capabilities in the Heritage® 18. The Heritage® 16 contains a single-row Spine Fin™ coil.
Variable speed fan motor operates very quietly so noise levels are kept to
a minimum. And, it conserves energy for lower cost operation.
Steel louvered panels are designed to protect the coil from leaves, hail
and damaging elements.
Baked-on paint coating on the louvers won't scratch and prevents rust and
corrosion.
Durabase™ basepan is made from a durable composite material that won't
crack, warp, corrode or rust.
Easy-Sess™ service access panels protect all electrical and refrigerant
controls with a side panel that can be quickly removed for installation or
service.
SermaGuard™ rust resistant screws resist against rust and corrosion.
Electronic demand defrost eliminates unnecessary defrost cycles for energy savings and longer compressor life.
Compressor sound insulators reduce noise for quieter operation.
Energy Star® qualified. Both the Heritage® 18 and the Heritage® 16 well
exceeed the minimum efficiency level of 13.00 SEER designated by the EPA
for Energy Star® recognition.
Two-Stages of Comfort
Staged cooling can provide you with greater comfort than a single-speed system. That's because a Heritage 18 two-stage, two-compressor heat pump system operates on first stage at 50% of capacity the majority of time. This longer run time on a lower speed results in more moisture removal - and an enhanced feeling of comfort. It also uses less energy, which can directly impact your cooling bills. On extremely hot days, your heat pump will switch to the second stage for maximum comfort.
A Two-Step Compressor Is A Step Up In Comfort
The Heritage 16 gives you a higher level of efficiency than most single compressor units, because it uses a two-step scroll compressor. A two-step scroll compressor runs on first stage the majority of the time at 70% capacity, and moves to the second stage on the hottest of days.
We Can Help With Humidity
The Heritage 18 or 16 comfort system includes a variable speed indoor unit and a special comfort
feature called Comfort-R™. Set by the installer, Comfort-R also dehumidifies
your home, removing up to 24 gallons of water a day compared to only 6 gallons
that a non-variable speed system removes.
A Word About SEER Ratings
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a standard measurement of air conditioning efficiency established by the U.S. Department of Energy. SEER is important because it is a good indicator of energy use. In other words, the higher the SEER, the more you can save on your energy bills.
